stash — A way to temporarily put aside changes you haven't finished, so you can come back to them.

Why you care

When you need to switch branches but aren't ready to save your work properly yet, stash tucks it away safely and lets you bring it back later.

When you hear it

"Stash it and come back." "Pop the stash" (bring the stashed work back).
